Mexican Police Official Investigating Border Lake Shooting Found Dead, Missing Head

U.S. and Mexican authorities say a Mexican state police commander investigating the reported shooting of an American tourist on a border lake plagued by pirates has been killed -- and he reportedly was found decapitated.

Ruben Rios, spokesman for the Tamaulipas state prosecutor's office, says Commander Rolando Flores, the head of state investigators in the border city of Ciudad Miguel Aleman, was killed.

Zapata County Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez told The Associated Press that "reliable sources within the law enforcement community of Mexico" told him that Rolando Flores' head was discovered Tuesday morning.

Rios said authorities "don't know how or why he was killed. We don't have any details on how he died."

Flores was investigating the disappearance of American David Hartley. Hartley's wife, Tiffany, says she and her husband were attacked by pirates on Falcon Lake on Sept. 30, while they were returning to the United States from Mexico on Jet Skis. Hartley was shot and presumably fell into the lake.

Rios says his killing was unrelated to the investigation, but U.S. authorities have said threats of violence from drug gangs who control much of the area has hampered the search for Hartley's body.

U.S. officials, particularly Texas Gov. Rick Perry, and Hartley's family have been pressuring Mexico to step up the search for Hartley and determine what happened.

Fred Garza, chief deputy sheriff in Webb County, on the Texas-Mexico border, said the search was continuing Tuesday.

A spokesman for Perry said the governor was being briefed and was expected to comment later Tuesday.

Falcon Lake is a dammed section of the Rio Grande, 25 miles long and 3 miles across. Pirates have robbed boaters and fisherman on the Mexican side, prompting warnings to Americans by Texas state officials, but Hartley's death would mark the first violent fatality on the lake.

Tiffany Hartley said men on three speedboats fired on her and her husband as they were riding Jet Skis back from a trip to Tamaulipas to photograph a half-submerged church, and that her husband was shot in the head. She said she tried to retrieve his body and his Jet Ski but the pirates continued firing and she fled to the U.S. side. Zapata County, Texas, Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez has said he has an eyewitness who corroborates her account.

Dennis Hartley, David Hartley's father, expressed shock and regret at Flores' killing.

"I just, I'm in shock about this right now," he told The Associated Press from his Colorado home. "I really don't have any hope that David will be found. I really hate other people putting their lives at stake. We don't need more sons lost. If this is true, I'm just really heart broken that this happened."

The Mexican Foreign Ministry says it has been using federal, state and local resources, including the military and helicopters, to search for Hartley's body and opened an investigation. Over the weekend, authorities named two possible suspects.

That part of Tamaulipas state is overrun by violence from a turf battle between the Gulf Cartel and the Zeta drug gang, made up of former Mexican special forces soldiers, and both are battling the Mexican military.

Last week, Perry had said he expected Mexican President Felipe Calderon to call him within 48 hours to report a body had been found and that even the threat of drug gang violence against search crews was no reason to halt the efforts.

Clarence Butterfield Convicted Of Torture-Murder Of Daughter Found In Freezer

      

SANTA ANA, Calif. — A jury Thursday convicted a 57-year-old man of the torture-murder of his adult daughter, whose body was kept in a freezer for two years.

The Orange County Superior Court jury found Clarence Butterfield guilty of first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon, and also found true special circumstances of murder with mayhem and murder with torture.

He faces a term of life in prison without the possibility of parole when he is sentenced on Oct. 8.

Butterfield had claimed he found his daughter, Rebekah, 21, dead at home on the day after Christmas 2006, then kept her body in a freezer because no one would believe he was innocent and because he believed she would be resurrected.

Prosecutors said Butterfield actually had hogtied her, shot her seven times in the leg, foot, knee and side of the head to torture her, and then stuffed her into the freezer where she suffocated.

"They did the right thing," Senior Deputy District Attorney Ebrahim Baytieh said of the jury's verdict. "He was a monster. He's still a monster and for the rest of his life he'll never be anywhere else but a prison cell, which is what he deserves."

Butterfield's ex-wife, Catherine Butterfield, also approved.

"It's a fair and just verdict for the crime," she said.

Butterfield's public defender, Lisa Eyanson, had asked the jury for a second-degree murder conviction but was not surprised at the verdict.

Woman admits setting fire to husband's genitals

A woman told a court in Australia on Monday that she set fire to her husband's genitals because she believed he was having an affair. The man later died of burn injuries.

Rajini Narayan, 46, told the South Australian Supreme Court in Adelaide, that she poured petrol on her husband, Satish Narayan, 47, and set him on fire, Australia's AAP news agency reported Monday.

Rajini had allegedly been subjected to 20 years of physical and emotional abuse at the hands of her husband, but she still loved him and considered him as her "god".

Though she pleaded not guilty to the murder of her husband in 2008, the fire caused him 75 percent burns and he died in hospital a few weeks later.

The fire also damaged the couple's house in Unley, a suburb of Adelaide.

Prosecutor Tim Preston said Rajini Narayan told her neighbours: "I did it. It wasn't an accident."

She also told the court her husband was having an affair and that she wanted to burn his genitals.

Police found at the crime scene printouts of emails from her husband to another woman.

Defence counsel Lindy Powell said even though she suffered at his hands, she still loved him. "More than loved him, she idolised him."

Rajini went to their bedroom with a container of petrol and a candle. As she approached him, she told him she had seen his emails and that she was going to burn his genitals and tell his family what he had done."

In response, Satish called her a fat, dumb bitch, Powell told the jury.

It was then that Rajini lost control and threw the petrol and the candle on his back.

Star sues over lies as we reveal hooker has no proof of sex romp

DAVID Beckham's lawyers were waiting to pounce on hooker Irma Nici last night to serve a massive $25 MILLION libel writ.

Two burly off-duty cops armed with the 21-page document were staking out a New York hotel where the prostitute has been holed up since her three-in-a-bed lies were published in downmarket US magazine In Touch.

The £16 million lawsuit accuses Irma of damaging Becks' reputation and causing him "mental anguish".

News of the World reporters tracked down Nici to the room in the New York hotel just hours before off-duty New York cops arrived there with the writ from the angry football superstar and his wife Victoria.

The celebrity couple are claiming the huge sum - around £16 million - PLUS punitive damages from the call girl and almost everyone connected with In Touch that printed her pack of lies, including writers, photographers, editors and distributors.

The 21-page document, already lodged with the Los Angeles court, accuses publisher Bauer and editor Michelle Lee of libel and intentional infliction of emotional distress, despite being expressly warned that the story was total fabrication.

The writ states: "The case arises from defendants' publication of lies to make money for themselves and to embarrass and inflict emotional distress upon Beckham, a world-famous athlete. Defendants published these statements with actual malice and with intent to profit by causing harm to Beckham."

Nevertheless prostitute Irma, who told the mag she slept with Becks FIVE TIMES, has spent this week attempting to extort another £200,000 from other media organisations for her lies.

But incredibly the brazen Bosnian-born call girl failed to provide a single shred of evidence to support her ludicrous claims. We discovered even her name is fake.

We played along with her in order to expose her scam as the price tag on her story spiralled up and up.

All the way through the discussions Irma, her notorious madam and agent Kristin Davis, and executives from the American mag In Touch - fooled into printing the allegations - confidently insisted they had evidence to prove their accusations that Beckham paid a total of £9,400 in cash for two sex sessions was true. But in the end they could come up with nothing.

Their tale unravelled in a series of meetings with nervy Irma after we traced her to the hotel on New York's East Side.

LIE! First we pressed Davis and Irma to back up the hooker's claims that dad-of-three Beckham had sex with her in a junior suite at Manhattan's Le Parker Meridien hotel in August 2007.

But senior hotel staff vowed to us that neither Becks nor Nici had been there when she said they were.

A senior marketing manager insisted: "I would know if David Beckham was ever here, even for a fleeting drink. We've checked our records and neither he nor the woman named were here."

And amazingly Irma confessed she's not even sure of the exact date the supposed encounter happened.

LIE! Irma, 26, claims she met Becks after an introduction through a mutual friend. But tellingly she refused to give us the pal's name.

LIE! Irma alleged she had sex with Becks several times and then phoned Davis asking her to supply a "brunette with curves" for a threesome. But they refused to corroborate the story by identifing the mystery second vice-girl, referring to her only as Jess.

Davis, who served four months in prison for supplying prostitutes to New York's elite, claimed: "Jess will never meet or talk to you in person about it. She's out of the game, and not even in this state. She wants nothing to do with it. She will not talk for all the money in the world."

LIE! Irma claimed she had phone records of Beckham calling her from the Manhattan hotel. But when pressed she could not produce any. Lamely she claimed she had lost the password for internet access to her mobile account and admitted she didn't have paper records.

LIE! Olive-skinned Irma insisted she keeps detailed notes on all her client bookings. But she could not provide a phone number for Beckham. "I never wrote it down," she said. "It wasn't a big deal."

LIE! The vice girl offered to show us evidence of US immigration stamps in her passport to prove she was in New York at the time she alleges she was with Beckham. Sadly, she didn't have the document with her. And later she claimed her handbag had been "stolen".

LIE! Irma claimed she had a second sex romp with Beckham at London's Claridges a month later. But she said credit card receipts to show she was there were unavailable.

LIE! The hooker swore to us in her rasping East European accent: "It is all true what I wrote in the magazine - I was very happy with it."

But she refused to take a lie detector test - standard practice in the USA on such stories. Her excuse was that the results would give police the opportunity to convict her as a prostitute - although she had already admitted that in print.

Supply teacher charged over sex with two teenage pupils

Supply teacher Hina Patel has been charged with having sex with two teenage boys.

Ms Patel was suspended from Birkdale High School for boys in Merseyside earlier this year following allegations from two pupils, who were above the age of consent.

The 37-year-old from Hightown was charged with two counts of abusing her position of trust by engaging in sexual activity with a child. 

Headteacher Gary Loveridge said the school was fully co-operating with police in their investigations.

He said: 'We are not trying to hide anything, we?re just waiting until there is something to comment on.

'We can't say anything because there is no hard and fast information available.

'If we make any presumptions, it would be liable to wreck any police case.'

Ms Patel will appear before North Sefton magistrates next month.

             ထို႔ေနာက္ ေနအိမ္ ေသတၱာအတြင္းမွ ေခါက္ျပီးအထည္မ်ား ကပ်ာကယာ ခ်ထားလ်က္ မီးပူတိုက္ေနသည့္ ပံုစံဖန္တီးကာ ဦးအုန္းေမာင္အား တံခါးဖြင့္ေပးလိုက္ေၾကာင္း ဦးအုန္းေမာင္က "နင္ဘာလုပ္ေနတာလဲ ငါေခၚေနတာ ၾကာျပီ" ဟု ဆိုခဲ့ရာ မီးပူတုိက္ေနျခင္း ျဖစ္ေၾကာင္း ေျပာျပီး ဦးအုန္းေမာင္က ပင္ပန္းသျဖင့္ ဧည့္ခန္းရွိ ခံုတြင္ေက်ာမွီလ်က္ ထိုင္ေနျပီး "ငါ..ထမင္းစားမယ္" ဟုေျပာဆိုခဲ့ေၾကာင္း "ေတာ္သြားခ်င္ရာ သြားျပီး အခုမွ လာစားမေနနဲ႔၊ ေတာ့္သားေတြဆီမွာ စားမယ္ ထင္ျပီးေတာ့ ေတာ္စားမယ့္ ထမင္းေတြကို ေခြးေကၽြးပလိုက္ျပီ" ဟုျပန္ေျပာခဲ့ရာ ဦးအုန္းေမာင္က "ေအးပါ မာလာရယ္... ထန္းလ်က္ခဲ ရရ၊ သၾကားေလးဘဲရရ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္" ဟုဆိုခဲ့ရာ ၄င္းကလည္း မီးဖိုဖက္သို႔ သြားျပီး ထမင္းခူးေနရာ ပုန္းေနသူ ညိဳ၀င္းအား အျပင္မထြက္နဲ႔ဦး ဟုတီးတိုး မွာၾကားခဲ့သည္ ဟူ၏။

            ဦးအုန္းေမာင္က ထမင္းစားျပီး ေရေႏြးၾကမ္းေသာက္ေနစဥ္ "ပိုက္ဆံ အေၾကြးသြားေတာင္းတာ ရခဲ့လား။ " ဟု ေမးျမန္းခဲ့ရာ  "မရခဲ့ဘူး။ မေတြ႕လို႔ " ဟု ျပန္ေျဖသျဖင့္ "ေတာ္ ကလိန္ကက်စ္ မလုပ္နဲ႔  မယံုဘူး။ က်န္မနဲ႔ လက္ထပ္တုန္းကလည္း ငါးသိန္းနဲ႔ တင္ေတာင္းမယ္ ေျပာျပီး ၃ သိန္းဘဲ ေပးတယ္။" ဟုေျပာလိုက္ရာမွ တဆင့္ လင္မယားခ်င္း စကားမ်ားစဥ္ မီးဖိုးအတြင္း ပုန္းေနေသာ ညိဳ၀င္းက ေရခ်ိဳးခန္းအတြင္းရွိ အ၀တ္ေလ်ာ္ရာတြင္ အသံုးျပဳသည့္ သစ္သား တုတ္ကို ဆြဲယူလာျပီး  ငုတ္တုတ္ ထုိင္ေနသည့္ ဦးအုန္းေမာင္၏ မ်က္ႏွာကို အားကုန္ ရိုက္ထည့္လိုက္သျဖင့္ ဦးအုန္းေမာင္မွာ ေနာက္ျပန္လန္က်သြားေၾကာင္း လဲက်သြားစသ္ ေနာက္ထပ္ တစ္ခ်က္ ထပ္ရိုက္ခဲ့သျဖင့္ရင္ဘတ္သို႔ ထိမွန္သြားျပီး နဖူးကြဲ ဒဏ္ရာေၾကာင့္ ေနရာတြင္ပင္ ပြဲခ်င္းျပီး ေသဆံုးသြားေၾကာင္း၊ ညိဳ၀င္း ၀တ္ဆင္ထားေသာ အ၀တ္အစားမ်ားကို ေသြးမ်ားေပက်ံေနသျဖင့္ ခင္မာလာ အားေလွ်ာ္ခိုင္းခဲ့ရာ "မေလွ်ာ္ဘူး" ဟုေျပာသျဖင့္ ညိဳ၀င္းက "မေလ်ာ္လို႔မျဖစ္ဘူး။ ရဲေတြ ေတြ႕သြားရင္ အကုန္ ဒုကၡေရာက္ကုန္မွာေပါ့။ ဒီကိစၥ နင္လည္း ပါတယ္၊ ငါသတ္တာလို႔ ေျပာရင္ နင့္ကို ငါသတ္မယ္" ဟု ေျပာေၾကာင္း၊ ၄င္းက ေသြးစြန္းေနေသာ အ၀တ္မ်ားကို ေလ်ာ္ေနစဥ္ ညိဳ၀င္းသည္ အိမ္အျပင္သို႔ ထြက္သြားျပီး  သူငယ္ခ်င္းျဖစ္သူ ဘိုက်င္း ထမင္းစားျပီး ပန္းကန္ေဆးေနသည္ကို ျမင္သျဖင့္ ငါေတာ့ လက္လြန္သြားျပီ ဟု အေၾကာင္းစံု ေခၚယူရွင္းျပခဲ့ေၾကာင္း၊ ညိဳ၀င္းက ဘိုက်င္းနွင့္ တိုင္ပင္ျပီး အေလာင္းအား ၄င္းမွ ေျခေထာက္၊ ညိဳ၀င္းမွ ခါးဘက္မွ မလ်က္ ဆုိင္ကယ္ေပၚသို႔ခြတင္ျပီး ၄င္းက ဦးအုန္းေမာင္ သံုးေနက် ပစၥည္းတို႔ႏွင့္အတူ လူသတ္လက္နက္ကိုပါ ေပးလိုက္သည္ ဟူ၏။
 
            လူအိပ္ခ်ိန္၊ လ်ပ္စစ္မီးမ်ား ပိတ္ခ်ိန္ ည ၁၁ နာ၇ီခန္႔တြင္  ညိဳ၀င္းက အေလာင္းကို လွ်ာထိုးဦးထုတ္ အနက္ ငိုက္စိုက္ေစာင္းေပးျပီး အျပင္မွ ျမင္သူတုိ႔ လူနာသယ္လာဟန္ သရုပ္ေဆာင္ေပးျပီး သယ္ယူခဲ့ျခင္း ျဖစ္ေၾကာင္းျပီး ေသဆံုးသူအား ေတြ႕ရွိရသည့္ ေနရာတြင္ ပစ္ထားခဲ့ေသာ္လည္း ဆုိင္ကယ္စီး ဦးထုတ္မွာ အသစ္အတိုင္း ရွိေနသျဖင့္ နွေမွ်ာျပီး ျပန္ယူလာခဲ့ျပီး ေနအိမ္သို႔ ဆုိင္ကယ္ကို ယူလာခဲ့ျပီး ေနအိမ္နားအေရာက္ ဆုိင္ကယ္ကို တြန္းလာခဲ့သည္ ဟူ၏။ ေနာက္တစ္ေန႔ နံနက္တြင္ ညိဳ၀င္းက ဆုိင္ကယ္ကို ျပင္ဦးလြင္ျမိဳ႕ေပၚ ပြဲစားတန္းတြင္ ဆုိင္ကယ္ကို ေရာင္းခ်ခဲ့ရာ ၀ယ္ယူသူကို မသိေၾကာင္း ထြက္ဆိုခဲ့သည္ ဟူ၏။
 
               ထို႔ေနာက္ အမႈစစ္ စခန္းမႈးက ညိဳ၀င္း ႏွင့္ အတူ ဘို၀င္း တုိ႔အား ဆက္လက္ ဖမ္းဆီးခ့ဲျပီးေနာက္ ျပစ္မႈက်ဴးလြန္သူ မခင္မာလာ က ၂၉.၆.၂၀၁၀ ေန႔တြင္ျပစ္မႈ က်ဴးလြန္ပံု အဆင့္ဆင့္အား လိုက္လံ ျပသေပးခဲ့ျပီး ျမိဳ႕နယ္ တရားရံုးတြင္ ဆက္လက္ ေျဖာင့္ခ်က္ ေပးခဲ့သည္ ဟူ၏။ ၅.၇.၂၀၁၀ ေန႔တြင္ ညိဳ၀င္း ႏွင့္ ဘိုက်င္း တို႔မွာလည္း ၄င္းတို႔ ဆႏၵအေလ်ာက္ ေျဖာင့္ခ်က္ေပးခဲ့သျဖင့္ တရားခံမ်ားကို ျပင္ဦးလြင္ ခရိုင္ တရားရံုးသို႔  တရားစြဲ တင္ပို႔ထားေၾကာင္း မႈခင္းသတင္း ဂ်ာနယ္အရ  သိရသည္။

'Youngest' female double murderer jailed

A girl thought to be Britain's youngest female double murderer has been jailed for life.

Lorraine Thorpe, now 16, of Clapgate Lane in Ipswich, was found guilty in August of murdering her father Desmond Thorpe and a woman called Rosalyn Hunt.

Thorpe, 15 when the murders took place in 2009, was told at the Old Bailey she would serve at least 14 years.

Paul Clarke, 41, also convicted of two murders at Ipswich Crown Court, was sentenced at an earlier hearing.

'Appalling case'

Clarke, of Mountbatten Court, was also jailed for life and told he must serve a minimum of 27 years.

Mr Justice Saunders said Thorpe could be "manipulative" and was not acting entirely under Clarke's control, adding: "She found violence funny and entertaining."

The bodies of Ms Hunt and Mr Thorpe were found at separate addresses in Ipswich in August 2009.

Both Clarke and Thorpe had denied the charges and gave no evidence during their trial.

They had repeatedly beaten and tortured Ms Hunt and then smothered Mr Thorpe to death.

The judge said: "Far from being sorry, Lorraine appears to have gloried in it, describing to her friends at one stage how she stamped on Rosalyn's head."

He said the only "possible explanation" for her father's murder was "the fear that he would go and tell the police what happened to Rosalyn Hunt".

Mr Justice Saunders described the case as "exceptional" and the story of Thorpe "appalling".

The court heard Thorpe and her father lived in "squalid" flats and sometimes even in tents.

"She was spending all her time with middle-aged alcoholics to whom violence had become normal," the judge said.

"It had become part of their way of life. The alcoholics fought with each other.

"They stole in order to get the drink they craved."

Social services could not keep track of her and when she was placed in a school she went back to her father, the judge told the court.

Through drinking the Thorpes met Clarke and lived at his flat for a time.

"She has been left with no real understanding of what is right and what is wrong," Mr Justice Saunders said.

"To describe her upbringing as not being a proper upbringing would be an understatement but it has left her as a violent young woman and a highly manipulative young woman as well."

Graham Parkins QC, defending, said: "It was highly inappropriate for this young girl to be playing a role of carer to her drunken and indeed very frail father.

"She never really had much of a chance in life."

Britain's youngest female killer, Mary Bell, was held at the age of 11 in 1968 for the manslaughter of two boys aged three and four.

Cops hunt man over sex attack on 99-year-old woman

POLICE have released an image of a man they are hunting over the sexual assault of a 99-year-old woman in Melbourne.

The woman was home alone at Ormond, in Melbourne's southeast, about 11am AEST on Saturday when a man aged between 17 and 20 knocked on her door.

He pushed the elderly lady back into the house and sexually assaulted her before stealing several items.

Police said the woman suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

Today police released an image of the man and a T-shirt he is believed to have been wearing during the attack, which bears the words "Al fresco" across the front.

Police will also set up an information caravan on Koornang Road, just north of Leila Road, to appeal for public assistance between 9.30am-12.30pm tomorrow.

The attacker is described as Caucasian, aged between 17 and 20 years old, approximately 160cm tall, with a thin build and brown straight messy hair.

IPOH, Aug 7 — A Myanmar worker allegedly axed his two countrymen to death in a quarrel over money at a house in Menglembu here early today.

The duo succumbed to injuries on the abdomen and head in the 2.15am incident, said Perak CID chief Datuk Mohd Dzuraidi Ibrahim.

He said the police failed to identify the two victims as no personal documents were found at the house where they stayed together with the assailant.

A suspect, an illegal immigrant working at a shoe factory, was arrested in Lahat, two hours after the attack, Dzuraidi told reporters today.

He said the police, who were alerted about the incident at 2.20am, found the bodies of the victims in the living room of the house.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, the burned body of a contractor was found in his car at Kampung Baru Bukit Merah, Menglembu at 12.20pm today.

Dzuraidi said passers-by tried to pull out the victim but intense heat beat them back.

The victim, Ho Hoon Fong, 60, who suffered 80 per cent burns on his body, was already dead by the time firemen arrived.

Dzuraidi said the police found a lighter and a bottle of fuel in the car.

The police do not suspect foul play and have classified the case as sudden death,

he said, adding that the victim was believed to be a jilted lover. — Bernama

လြန္ခဲ့ေသာ ၂ ႏွစ္အတြင္း ထုတ္လုပ္မႈ အင္ဂ်င္နီယာ တစ္ဦး ျဖစ္သည့္ သမ္နမ္ဆန္းသည္ အမ်ိဳးသမီးမ်ား၏ စကက္မ်ား ေအာက္ဖက္မွ ပံုရိပ္မ်ားကို ဓာတ္ပံု ခိုးရိုက္ ခဲ့ျခင္းဟု သိရသည္။ အသက္ ၄၇ ႏွစ္ရွိ သမ္၏ ျပစ္မႈမ်ား အေပၚ စကၤာပူ တရားရံုးက ၾကားနာ လ်က္ရွိၿပီး ေနာက္ တရားရံုးမွ ထြက္လာသည့္ သမ္မွာ စိုးရိမ္ ထိတ္လန့္ ေနဟန္ ရွိေၾကာင္း သတင္းမ်ားက ေဖာ္ျပခဲ့သည္။ ၎၏ ေရွ့ေနက စြပ္စြဲထားမႈ အမ်ားစုသည္ သံသယ အေနအထားတြင္သာ ရွိေနေၾကာင္း Straight Times သတင္းစာသို့ ေျပာၾကားခဲ့သည္။ တရားရံုး မွတ္တမ္းမ်ားအရ သမ္သည္ ဒီဂ်စ္တယ္ ကင္မရာတစ္လံုးကို ပလပ္စတစ္ အိတ္တစ္လံုးတြင္ထည့္ကာ သိုဝွက္ၿပီး အမ်ိဳးသမီး၏ အဝတ္အစားမဲ့ ေအာက္ပိုင္းပံုရိပ္မ်ားကို ၂၀၀၈ ခုႏွစ္ကတည္းက ေထာင္ေခ်ာက္ဆင္ ရိုက္ကူးေနခဲ့ေၾကာင္း ပါရွိသည္။

"IN LESS than three hours, a production engineer managed to shoot 85 upskirt videos of unsuspecting women two years ago.

Tham Nam Sang, 47, was charged on Tuesday with 85 counts of intruding into the privacy of his victims.

According to court documents, Tham is said to have placed a digital camera in a plastic bag with the lens pointing up to film videos of the undergarments worn by his victims.

Between 5.10 pm and 7.30 pm on Sept 6, 2008, he is believed to have visited the Suntec City convention centre, Ngee Ann City shopping centre as well as several other unknown locations.

By approaching women in short skirts and placing his bag near their legs, he is said to have filmed their undergarments. The court was not told if the videos were of 85 different women or if some of the videos were of the same victim."

It is obvious that many people carry a camera everywhere they go. Some lug around a huge DSLR with tripod slung across the body like a bow , some have a digital camera bulging in their pockets and many use a handphone with a camera . So the odds are that almost 2/3 of adults have a photographic device of some sort ....

I am one of those who have succumbed to the DSLR craze . If i do not bring a camera with me on an outing, I feel empty and practically naked . Yes, that's why i have more than 100,000 photos in my folders - of events, people and quirkies ....I take pictures of signboards , of scenery, you name it....anything which i feel is worth capturing ....but the bulk of my photos are of my family....cos i want them to have memories to look back upon ..

My photography coach Jarrod Stone must have at least 10 times more photos than i have ..he cannot live a day without taking photos ...on his way home, when he sees a sunset , when there is any incident on the road .....and he has revealed that he has been 'stopped' by police several times already..but after showing them the photos in his memory card, they have waved him on.

But lately, we do hear of police geting sensitive over phototaking . The recent incident of a newspaper photographer being handcuffed for taking photos during the flash floods ( or causing an obstruction) hogged the headlines ....why would the police resort to this ...i dont know the whole story but of the little i know, it does seem strange . Our insurance companies regularly remind us to take pictures of accidents, so it is normal for me to see people coming out of their cars and taking pictures on the road ....hmm

My advice to those people who, like me, cannot resist toting a camera everywhere they go is simply this :-

1. DO NOT CONCEAL YOUR CAMERA . Make sure everyone can see you holding the camera WHEN YOU ARE TAKING THAT PICTURE . No commando style photo-taking .


2. DO NOT TAKE COVER WHEN TAKING THAT PICTURE . Do not hide behind pillars , do not kneel behind a bush- okay, you get the drift .


3. HAVE EYE CONTACT WITH YOUR SUBJECT . I've noticed that actually many people do not mind having their photos taken , but they do feel uncomfortable if you do not make that known to them . Fair enough, right ?


So , do carry on taking photos .....but have some discretion and common sense .

When my old friends Joan and Geoff were in Singapore in March, they saw me taking photos everywhere ....When my kids were swimming at the hotel pool, they said to me that in Britain, I would have been stopped . When I asked why, they said it's because there were other kids around . They shocked me further when they said that it has reached such ridiculous proportions that cameras are not even allowed for Sports Day and School events ...only a professional photographer engaged by the school or organiser could take photos ...WHAT !!!!!!!!!!!!

Gosh, I do hope we dont end up that way....so please, please use your camera wisely lest we all lose our freedom to shoot .

ဇြန္ ၃ ရက္တြင္ နာက်င္ေစမႈ ပုဒ္မ ၃၂၃၊ ၿခိမ္းေျခာက္မႈ ပုဒ္မ ၅၀၆ တုိ႔ ျဖင့္ ထက္ထက္မုိးဦးကုိ ရန္ကင္း တရားရုံးက အမႈစြဲတင္ခဲ့ အၿပီး တတိယေျမာက္ ရုံးခ်ိန္းတြင္ ေရာက္ရွိလာျခင္း ျဖစ္သည္။

ယေန႔တရားခြင္တြင္ တရားသူႀကီးက ထက္ထက္မုိးဦး၏ ကုိယ္ေရးရာဇ၀င္ကုိ ေတာင္းယူျခင္း ၊ အမႈစြဲတင္ထားမႈကို ဖတ္ျပျခင္းတုိ႔ ျပဳလုပ္ခဲ့ၿပီး ထက္ထက္မုိးဦးဘက္မွ ေရွ႕ေနပါ၀ါတင္သြားကာ အာမခံရယူသြားခဲ့ေၾကာင္း သိရသည္။

တျခားေသာ ျပည္တြင္းသတင္းေထာက္တဦးက“ျပစ္မႈက်င့္ထုံးဥပေဒ ၄၉၆ အရ တရားရုံးက အာမခံေပးလုိက္တယ္။ အာမခံေငြ က်ပ္ ၁၀ သိန္း နဲ႔ အာမခံေပးလုိက္တယ္လုိ႔ သိရတယ္"ဟု ေျပာသည္။

ယေန႔တရားရင္ဆုိင္မႈႏွင့္စပ္လ်ဥ္း၍ ထက္ထက္မုိးဦးကုိ ဆက္သြယ္ခဲ့ေသာ္လည္း ျပန္လည္ေျဖၾကားျခင္း မရွိေပ။
